Stoke Bishop Dental Centre is by choice a non-NHS practice, with the exception of our patients' children. Treatment costs are always explained fully before treatment starts and written confirmation is always given. All treatments, including implants, include a twelve month warranty.
Meet the team
The team of private dentists at Stoke Bishop Dental Centre in Bristol have been carefully picked from a broad range of backgrounds. The principal dentist is Jim Toms. He is a keen advocate of preventative dentistry. His clinical interests include implantology, cosmetic dentistry, and the treatment of nervous patients. He graduated from Bristol University in 1983 and has been awarded the Diploma in Post Graduate Dental Studies from Bristol University.
Jim Toms - Dentist BDS, DPDS, MSc
Jim Toms of Stoke Bishop Dental Centre has been placing implants for over ten years. Jim is one of the few dentists in the Bristol area to limit his practice entirely to implant dentistry. He receives referrals for implant work from many dentists in the Bristol area and has lectured to general dentists on the techniques and benefits of implants and implant treatments. To date, he has placed over 1000 implants and holds a Master of Science degree in Implant dentistry from the University of Warwick.
Charles Buckle - BDS, MFDS
Charlie joined our practice in 2008 after completing an oral surgery post in the Royal Gwent hospital. Prior to this he spent 6 years in general practice in Stratford-upon-Avon where he gained experience in all aspects of general practice, with his main interest being cosmetic dentistry. Charlie has completed many post graduate courses since qualifying from Bristol University in 2001. These have included implant training and in 2007 he was awarded his MFDS. His interests out of work include rugby, cycling and skiing
